Waikato Diocesan School for Girls is a state-integrated Anglican school with a roll of around 670 students, including 160 boarders. Our school has well-established traditions of excellence and is widely recognised as one of the highest performing schools in New Zealand, with an enviable record of academic, sporting and cultural achievements.
The arts are an integral part of school life – whether it is performing or producing art for public performances or exhibitions, or simply for personal fulfilment and enjoyment, we believe that creativity is a vital part of education.
We have a range of sports codes available from netball, hockey, football, lacrosse and basketball to rowing, equestrian, cycling, tennis, cricket and water polo.
There are many advantages to young women being educated in girls' schools where there are no expectations to fulfil traditional gender stereotypes in the subjects that they study, the activities they participate in or the careers they pursue. Girls' schools create a culture of strong academic achievement and students that engage in more healthy competition and risk-taking - skills that are advantageous for leadership and life success.
We welcome International Students into our school community and value the rich cultural mix they bring to our learning environment. We have an excellent reputation for quality education and care of our International Students so you can be confident that your daughter will be well looked after in a nurturing and welcoming environment.
